ila is a trailblazing digital, mobile-only bank in Bahrain powered by Bank ABC. The bank has become widely known as a digital pioneer in the MENA market, being admitted by MasterCard in 2020 as the “Best Digital Bank User Experience”. Moreover, ila Bank won two top honors, “Best Consumer Digital Bank” and “Best Mobile Banking App” in Bahrain, in the World’s Best Consumer Digital Bank Awards in the Middle East in 2021 by Global Finance.

At Qubstudio, we helped ila Bank to scale and grow their digital product by establishing a design-driven process, providing high-end product design expertise in fintech, and altering the design system.

We put users at the center of innovations. That's why the significant part of improving the mobile app was in-depth research of user behavior and preferences. The insights we found formed the basis of product improvements.

Our Lead Product Designer managed the international project design team. Together we set the entire cycle of the design-driven approach to add advanced product features and improve existing ones.

We adjusted the design system to provide consistency and a convenient and quick way to lookup elements. It resulted in fast interface prototyping without searching for specific components or modules in hundreds of already designed screens.
ila Bank successfully expedited the designing and scaling of their product. In conjunction, our teams established an accelerated and robust product design cycle, ensuring smooth delivery, and reduced time to market.
